A charming sake with a hint of umami, sharp acidity, and maybe good fortune! "Lucky Cat" is a sake from Kaiun Doi Shuzo, a premium brewer founded in the Shizuoka Prefecture 150 years ago, and is a part of their limited-edition special series. Made from Homare Fuji rice, the original strain of sake rice from Shizuoka Prefecture (a mutation of Yamadanishiki created in Shizuoka), this rice has a crisp aftertaste, rich scents, and a mellowness that lets you feel the umami of the rice.

INTERESTING FACTS

Two important characteristics of Homare Fuji Sake Rice are that its stalks grow closer together, are thicker and shorter, and can withstand strong winds—even typhoon-force gusts! Moreover! Because it has far less protein than other varieties, this rice matures exceptionally well.
